I have central heat/air in my rental house. My heater is gas, not electric. My furnace has been said to be running fine but for some reason the air coming out the vents is not hot. The vents closer to the furnace (which is in the garage) produces luke warm air, but as you get farther from the furnace the vents push out cold air. I have had my landlord insulate the ducts under the house. I have also bought air-flow-directors to keep the air flow from pointing toward the windows and I have even cut off air flow to rooms I don't use hoping it would help but it doesn't. My house never gets above 62 degrees no matter what I set the thermostat on. In December I had a $285 gas bill, thermostat set on 65-70 depending on whether I was home and my house stayed 60-62 degrees. Can anyone give me any suggestions PLEASE!

You need the Onsite services of a professional HVAC contractor to come to the home and check over the furnace to see why it is not working correctly. This is the real solution since so far guess work has not helped correct your situation.
