For about a little over a month now my heart has been feeling like its going to pound right out of my chest. It hurts a little too. It doesn't happen all the time but enough to take notice and too make me uncomfortable. Actually a few days ago I passed out in the grocery store with my mom! I was sooo embarrassed I still am! I went to the hospital and they say nothings wrong but then why do I still feel this way? What could this be from?

1.) How old are you?
2.) Do you feel any other physical changes before this happens I.E. chills, sweating, dizzyness?
If I were you, I'd have your mom take you to a doctor. He will want to run a few tests, to rule out anything physical, electrophysical, or perhaps even stress related. I would not treat this lightly, especially since you lost consciousness. Most E.R.'s are not like "House," in that they can immediately diagnose what's wrong. A doctor who can collect your history, perform tests that the E.R. cannot/ will not do, and take the time necessary to come to a complete diagnosis. I went to the E.R. twice last year, and each time they had no diagnosis for what was wrong with me. (I couldn't walk, my foot was in excrutiating pain.) I finally went to my G.P. who ran a blood test, and lo and behold I have gout! (metabolic arthritis.) An $11.00 a month rx and I feel better.
BTW, I am a licensed CCT, (Certified Cardiovascular Technician,) I have some knowledge of what I speak. And yes heart problems can start in the very young as well. The doctor will most likely schedule an echocardiogram, and a stress test. Both are painless.
Again, go see a doctor.

Since you are still experiencing it, do have it checked out some more... seeing a cardiologist would be wise. There are a number of tests they will be able to perform that your regular doctor or hospital won't normally do for you.
Sometimes a potential problem won't be picked up unless they happen to catch your heart in action. The use of a heart monitor for a period, possible stress test, etc. may be options they will consider.
It may be something as simple as an exaggerated response to too much caffeine recently, or to hormonal changes, or it may be something they would want to look more into.

I have the same symptoms and I went to the e.r they told me I was having anxity attacks.then I ended up back in the e.r again and was told I have heart palpitations they almost feel like my heart skips a beat/or fast beats I also get very dizzy and short of breath I had a holter monitor on for 48 hrs.and it showed I have pvc's they told me to cut back on caffine, stress and to eat well so I did and about three months later my symptoms got to bad to deal with I have very bad chest pains so I went back to the heart specialists and did a stress test on Monday still waiting on results and I'm also on a heart monitor for a month now until April so yes I would go see a heart specialist just to make sure everything is normal I'm sure it is because the trouble I'm having is not something bad it's just very uncomfortable to deal with.and I'm only 26 yrs.old so never to young to have too much stress or not eating well. I wish you the best in life and your health go luck!

Yes I'm on the life watch monitor until April 7 do you know if it is normal for the electrodes to have the gel come out of them after a day of wearing them I have to change them everyday because of this but my doc.said that I should be able to wear them for up to 72hrs. Is this normal or am I doing something wrong?

You are not doing anything wrong. 72 hours is the recommended time for the electrodes, but it is meant more for bedridden people. Obviously since you are active, they will wear out quicker.
What to do. Change them daily, after a shower. Use alcohol swabs (They cost $1.99 for 100 in the diabetic section of the drugstore,) and gently scrub the area where you will put them and let it air dry. You can rotate the placement site roughly the size of your fist from where the first electrodes were placed. Try to do that to avoid irritation. Now. Because you are going to change them more frequently, you will probably run out before the end of your period. Not a problem, just make sure that you have at least a seven day supply, and when you call in a recording, mention to the tech on the phone that you need more electrodes. They will happily ship you a new set to get you to the end of your subscription.
Hopefully that will help. If you have any questions though, please ask your doctor, and the tech on the phone. They know more than I do.
Best of luck!
