I have a 6yr old female & I have been buying "Royal Canin Veterinary Diet Mobility Support JS" food from my Vet & it seems to be working well but it's so expensive. Can anyone suggest a named brand that might be just as good that I can buy from someplace like Costco?

Dog food you get at places like Walmart, Kmart and grocery stores commonly use fillers such as corn or rice in their food as the first ingredient. You want something like Lamb or other meat as the first ingredient. Usually these foods are not cheap. It depends on what you want to give your dog. The more expensive, better food usually keeps their fur shinier and healthier looking and gives the dog more energy. But sometime you just can't afford the expensive stuff! I have that problem. I have yet to find a cheap version of the good dog food.

Royal Canin is a great food. And yes expensive. But what about mixing it with another brand. So it last longer. Diamond professional comes to mind.
