I have a personal judgement against me for a previous credit card debt. The court sent me a letter informing me that if there is anything over $400 in my personal bank account then they will take a percentage. I recently started a sole proprieter LLC for an at home business that I am about to start. I opened a small business checking account today in the new business name with the state and federal I.D. numbers, but my name is still on the acccount. I was told by someone that if you have an LLC then personal garnishment cannot be taken from the business account because you are protected by the LLC. Is this true?
