Hi, I have a multi tank septic design - One for gray water one for human waste. We are now on our second year living here but looking into the inspection port I can see the water is to the top. The two tanks feed into a holding tank and then pumped to the field. We have not had any backup but it seems like the tanks are full (or is it normal for them to fill up almost to the top>) - I have contacted a service co. but think it strange that the water is visible as soon as you look into the inspection port -

Maybe the pump is not working correctly?

There is always some water standing in the septic well that collects liquids. I don't think it should be all the way to the top. But, it usually happens in rainy season, if you added plumbing fixtures, or more adults live in the house than before. Also, there is a possibility that you may have blocked run off field lines.

Have it pumped out and monitor how fast it will fill up again.
