I used to hangout with this guy for months and we got to be so close and then he randomly got a girlfriend and tried to hide it from me by buying me a nice necklace. Once I found out I told him off and moved on. At first he seemed upset about our friendship ending but then we saw each other once and got into a fight and my friend told his girlfriend how he cheated on her with me. After that his cousin IMed her and his girlfriend did asking her about it. I decided to message him on myspace just to end things and say we need to be mature and just not talk to each other because he had a girlfriend and I have been hanging out with another guy. I told him in a nice way I could never be his friend again and when he responded he was so mean and said he never cared about me to begin with and never wanted to be friends again anyway, I can't decide if he was just saying it to be mean or if its true. I never plan on talking to him again either way but I'm just curious as to what an outsider thinks.

He probably had his hopes up to start some sort of a relationship with you considering his current girlfriend was with another guy or "becoming acquainted with another guy". When you hit the right spot a lot of guys lash out but this just goes to show you that he is untrustworthy (you learned that the first time) and immature. I think you did the right thing... move on and find a nice guy who will treat you with respect.

I think that he got caught with his hand in the cookie jar.

He was used to playing two ends against the middle, and probably felt six-foot, puffed up and bullet-proof.

When his 'game' was called, he was angry. He is far more comfortable controlling people, than facing the truth of his own actions. Thus the anger.

I would say that this speaks volumes as to his character.

That you 'outed' him on Facebook, with the truth, leaves him stranded to explain himself.

I think you did the right thing to end this friendship, and that speaks volumes about YOUR character.
