This is a query similar to asked question dated 2/22/06 by applguy and jcabouch, I have a kenmore stacking washer/dryer unit model 91081 where it began to leak water and now makes this rasping/grinding noise during agitation cycle. During the initial fill cycle It began to leak water, so I poppped-off the front panel and observed while in action. The hoses appear intacted not wet and squeezable, Drive belt is in good shape, I observe belt spinning quite fast compared to agitator, bad sound can not pin point. Water is dripping from small plastic drain outlet right above the motor/water pump. after drain water from tub, removed softener tray, removed rotated cap that softener tray sits on to reveal bolt of agitator, which I can not get off since bolt is really embedded into top of agitiator, is a special tool required or referring to old question you mention total replacement of asgitator if embedded or transmission change.. Please advice??
