I live in the state of Florida and my ex wants to sign over his parental rights.. I am supposed to be receiving child supprt he is currently caught up due to the gov. taking it from his income tax. He said he can't financially support the child and wants to sign over rights I am currently remarried so I was just wondering how that works

He can sign over his rights to your husband. You need to talk to your lawyer. Your husband will have to adopt your child. That is the only way the bio father can sign over his rights. Another man has to adopt the child. Go talk to a lawyer. Good luck.

Your current husband would have to agree to adopt the child. Otherwise, your "ex" has a legal responsibility to support the child whether he visits with the child or not. It's not just a matter of surrendering his rights.
