We bought a new house and our 1 yr home owner warranty will be up by end of May, 09. I notice the metal trim/lath at the bottom of our stucco pillars (yes, all of them) at our outside porch expose to the air. The stucco that was used to cover the metal trim/lath disappear. When I asked the builder to repatch them, I was told there was no need to fix them since they are outside. I am afraid it would be a matter of time to loose more stucco over the pilliars because of the rain. Any thoughts?

My take is redo the pillars. This should not have happened in the short time is was. Makes you wonder what the mix was on the stucco and how it was applied.
Get the builder out and demand it repaired. The one reason he may want to blow you off is, any "patch" on stucco will not quite match. The whole pillar will more than likely need redone.

Demand that he fulfill the warranty and fix the pilllars. This guy is just trying to bluff you beyond your warranty date .
