My sump pump doesn't get any water in it, even when it rains. While part of me says, "Great, I don't have to worry about my basement flooding if the lights go out, etc." I'm sure something must be wrong when no water is coming in. What do I do to see what is wrong, or should I not worry about it?

Hey Bev,
You're just looking for trouble when there's none to find. Your basement's dry. If you should get water in your basement then the pump will kick in and pump it out. Until then rest easy. Your worries are unfounded. Good luck and thank you for rating my answer. Tom

I agree with Tom. The sump removes excess ground water from around your fondation. If there is none you are one of the few lucky folks I have heard from. In my area I get paid good money to install backup pumps because our main pumps break down right in the middle of a storm.

THAT'S FANTASTIC!! Thank you so much! I did spend $4,000 last year to put a new drain pipe in my back yard when I had the problem with sewer back-up so that must have really fixed my problem! How nice to NOT have a problem. Thanks again!!
