We had a carrier system installed in 2002. We have a dual zone carrier thermostat. While cooling, the t-stat flashes an error code and the fan will not turn off after a cooling cycle. In heat mode no error code but again the fan continues to run. E-heat will not come on unless the front panel of the t-stat is opened. The system was installed by a local man who is semiretired now. We have tried to contact him but his watchdog, er wife will not pass on our messages. Is this a common problem?with the system I mean. Can anyone advise how to proceed? We have been told that the t-stat is no longer available or is excessivly expensive. Oh I should mention that we live in a remote location so getting service isn't the easiest

If you decide to replace the tstat, you don`t have to buy the same kind you have, the system should be under warranty if the installer was certified, with carrier,if not,, well sorry but by getting an installer that can save you bucks,, wasn`t a good idea., but from what you are saying its probably the tstat, but don`t let a new one get installed by a jack-leg,, sorry for the wording but you want save any money,, goodluck

PS,when you go shopping for a tstat,be sure you have all info with you about the type of equipment you have, will save you a trip
