Hi guys, my car has been broken into twice in the past 6 months, I didn't have an alarm installed the first time (my own stupidity) but the second time I had a full system installed.
My biggest problem is that I have an MX-5 convertible, and I really really like the soft top so I don't want to have to get a hard top but even with an alarm thieves can just slash it open and take what they want. Can anyone recommend a really good alarm system or anything that can stop people taking to my car with a knife?

I have a MB and my alarm is triggered if the car rocks/moves. The only time someone tried to slash the rag top the alarm sounded immediately and they ran off.

I have been unable to find an alarm for a convertible top.

My last car had t-tops and I did buy an alarm that attached to the t-tops because someone did try to steal them once.

How do you like the Mazda? I test drove one and liked it but thought the handling was somewhere between a sedan and a sports car. Would you buy another? I see very few in my area.

Thanks for replying. I was unlucky, my roof got slashed big time and they must have seen the red light flashing and done everything really carefully :(

I love it!! Not the best for bottom end speed but it corners like a dream, you can practically floor it around a tight corner and it doesn't lose traction.
