I bought a boat off a friend , through unemployment and inability to pay for it , he has without notice , changed locks on the boat , seized all property on the boat , (lots of which are my personal possessions) , I have had an email from the Marina forbidding me to even go on the docks (public marina) until financial arrangements have been made . I kept up the boat and put $5000 worth of improvements over 3 years . I realize anything attatched must stay , but , what about all the parts stored on the boat and my personal things , am I entitled to get them off the boat before it is sold , who do I contact and what do I do .

If the Marina has forbidden you to enter the premises the Marina has to give you permission. They will know the procedure.

The problem with contacting the Marina is , the guy I bought the boat from owns the Marina , I need to know if I should be talking to a lawyer or who .

Ok, if you bought a boat, there is a
1. bill f sale
2. a title, a boat has a title just like a car
3. your yearly paper work where you register and get your boat numbers every day
4. and/or a loan document if the boat is not fully paid for.
So under what reason did he "repo" the boat
if you have a bill of sale or title, report him for theft or sue him for the value of the boat.
If this is a repo, call the police maybe sheriff department and see if they will go with you to get your personal property
