What does he mean by "us" in this passage in Gensis? It seems like there is more then one God... Why is this not explained anywhere?

Gensis 3:22
And the LORD God said, "The man has now become like one of us, knowing good and evil. He must not be allowed to reach out his hand and take also from the tree of life and eat, and live forever."

We believe He means the Holy Trinity. Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Three Persons in one God.

Us,

God the Father, God the Son and Spirit. Are all in the same.

We have many many different body parts, yet we only have the one body.

God the Father, and Jesus Christ the Son and The Holy Spirt are all one. Many parts that make the one God.

But all that wasn't figured out until LONG after Christ... It wasn't mentioned in the bible specifically was it?

Except in one verse which says:
Matthew 28:19
Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

That is why we believe that if all we have is the Bible, we don't have everything God intended for us to have.

The Catholic perspective says that God revealed His nature to the Church, the Apostles. This they have progressively revealed to us in their further definitions of the teachings of Jesus Christ throughout the centuries. These definitions do not contain anything new. They simply explain more fully that which has already been revealed.

The bible that we hold today in our hands has many things changed from the original text.
One of the most important changes in my opinion is the substitution of the word ''echad'' with the word '' yachid''.
The first of all commandments is like this ''Hear O Israel, The Lord God is one God'',in Hebrew it is ''YHVH ELOHIM YHVH ECHAD''.
Elohim is the plural for ''God'' and ''echad'' means ''united one'', so the commandment literally is ''Hear O Israel,The Lord your Gods is a united one''.
Moses Ben Maimon changed the word ''echad'' to ''yachid'' which means ''only one'',but nowhere in the bible the word ''yachid'' is mentioned when referring to the Godhead, it is always ''echad''.
So , the Trinity was well known to the Jews before the coming of Christ!
