Hi! First question here... I am in a financial accounting class, and one of our first assignments is an internet assignment.. We have to go to the FASB website (www.fasb.org) and answer 4 questions..

1. What is the mission of FASB?
(I found this on the frontpage)

2. What are some of the common types of information available from the FASB's website?
(I am unsure what my professor means by "common types of information"... any ideas here?

3. What is the number and the subject of the latest FASB Statement on Financial Accounting Standards?
(I have put "156: Acounting for Servicing of Financial Assets-an amendment of FASB Statement No. 40" but I believe that she said another was passed just 2 weeks ago.. I could find nothing of FAS 157, so I am assuming it is okay to leave this as it is... )

4. From the Beginning of 1995 through 2006, how many Financial Accounting Standards were issued by the FASB?
(I counted 37, unless I should include the recently passed one that I have found no documentation on.. )

If anyone knows about the FASB site, I would truly appreciate a guided tour, maybe a point in the right direction if I am blatently wrong in my answers...

Thanks SO much to anyone that can help me out...

He is probably asking, what kind of information can I get by going to FASB’s website?
