The personnel roster for a large manufacturing company indicates that 25% of the employees have MBAs and 40% have undergraduate liberal arts degrees. In addition 55% have either an MBA or an undergraduate liberal arts degree. What is the probability that a randomly selected employee has both an MBA and an undergraduate liberal arts degree? What is the probability that a randomly selected person with an MBA has an undergraduate liberal arts degree?

Let B=bachelors degree and M=masters degree.

Remember, P(B \;\ or \;\ M)=P(B)+P(M)-P(B \;\ and \;\ M)

You have 3 of the above criteria. For the first question, solve for P(B \;\ and \;\ M)

For the second question, you need P(B|M)

That is, prob. Of having a bachelors given they have a masters.

P(B|M)=\frac{P(B \;\ and \;\ M)}{P(M)}

Can you get that one?
