I have recently inherited an A.L.Dennison gold plated half hunter pocket watch and require to know how to date its manufacture.
The inner cuvette is engraved ' ENGLISH MAKE. THIS CASE GUARANTEED TO WEAR 10 YEARS' and is numbered '65 64 6N'.
The engraved number '653664' followed by the letter 'X' is to be found on the various lid covers.
The watch case main body has the number '3 6 4 ' stamped on its rim edge.
With the help of this information can anyone accurately date this item for me?

Does the name Waltham appear anywhere on it?

Here's a reference site where we might find the answer to your question:

Waltham pocket watch, pocketwatches, pocketwatch, OLDWATCH.COM Home Page (http://www.oldwatch.com/waltham.html)

Hello Rick,
Just a line to thank you for guiding me in the right direction. Your link allowed me to communicate with the CEO ( Tom McIntyre ) of The American Watch Company who was able to date the Dennison Pocket Watch to circa 1910 on the details outlined.
Again, many thanks.

Gilbert Hartle (xabiagil).
