I have been in recovery for over 6 years now. I want to give back to the community by being a counselor. I am eligible for financial aide at the community college near me. I want to go back to school. Right now I really don't have any skills for a decent job. I also have something in my background that prevents me from getting allot of jobs. I just think that a drug and alcohol councilor would be a great job for me, What do I need to get the certificate for this job. Oh I forgot I live in New Jersey.

My brother's girlfriend is going to school to be a drug counselor. I know that she eventually wants her masters, but as of right now she's got an associate's degree and has gotten a job at a halfway house through an internship. But yeah, I'm really not sure as to what the requirements are. I would definitely look it up.
