Ok, I tried what Milo recommended for my leaky kithen faucet. WD-40 and left it on over night so when I tried to take the screw out of the handle, the handle broke in 3 places, then the screw did come out. Now I have let WD-40 soak on the packing nut, and it will not loosen up at all. What do I do now? I need help please, can't afford a plumber. Thanks to anyone who can help.

Going to need to know what the original question was, and pics of the problem area would help. Where is the faucet leaking etc etc.

The faucet is in the kitchen sink. The hot warter one is leaking around the packing nut. I can not get it off. I have tried WD-40 on it all night, but still won't budge. Thanks for any help. The faucet is about 20 yrs old a Moen.

Hi Suziyl:

What tools are you working with? You should have a large pair of pliers or a crescent wrench...see pictures.

I have an adjustable cresent wrench, a phillips screwdriver, an overhead light and new faucet washers to replace the old when I get to that part. I have lots of tools available to me if I need them. Tks

Try a pair of pliers here... or a small wrench. Let me know what happens.

Thanks Mark, just got it. Trying to be your own plumber, electrician is hard, but I am persistent. Have a great night

Indeed, you are persistent... we appreciate that quality around here!

Be safe (especially around the wires... ;)).

Good night!
