I am more than boggled regarding our ceiling fan issues. We had an existing ceiling fan with light over our dining room table and have just installed another ceiling fan with light in our accompanying living room. There was never any lighting in our living room before now. We drilled a hole and fed the wire (14/2) to the existing dining room light fan box in the ceiling (White, black and copper/ground). When we look up into the ceiling box of the pre existing light/fan we see 4 sets of black and white wires (4x 14/2). When we turn off the power to the pre existing fan/light from our fuse box - the freezer goes out as well as 11 other outlets.
We hooked up all the blacks to the blacks, the red from our existing fan to the blacks as well, the whites to the whites and the grounds were grounded. But, when we turn on or off the wall switch neither light turns on or off on our light/fan.
HELP!!
