Hello Experts,

Please answer the follwing I'm really confused!!

1) What is % of TAX applicable on CPT students.

I heard its 14% is this correct?

if so 14% is applicable on federal tax and state tax individually or 14% on the salary.

suppose

if salary is 2500$

14% on 2500= 350$
does this 350$ include Federal Tax + California State Tax

or

does this 350$ is just Federal Tax and later the state tax is added to it.

suppose California state tax is 100$ then the total taxes become 350 + 100$??

Please suggest the exact Taxeble rates.

2) What is the California State Tax applicable on 2500$ on student(INDIAN) with CPT ,F1-VISA status.

3)What is the Federal Tax amount on 2500$?

Please Reply

Thanks

If your income for the year is $2500, you are not required to file tax return. You will file only Form 8843.
You can file to get refund of taxes withheld.
