With my first pregnancy I gain 40 pounds.. and now that I'm pregnant again I REALLY
Don't want to gain that much weight again..
I'm not really an active person.. but I can underweight...
I really try to eat healthy but when your pregnant I found you crave sugar and junk food... Advice or stories? I'd love to hear from you.
Thanks!:)

Different people will have different cravings, or none at all. Make healthy food choices, but allow yourself to indulge once in awhile. Just keep it once in awhile and remember that 3 cookies, for example, is a better choice than 8... :) Watch portion sizes... better to eat a little throughout much of the day, than to overdo it at mealtimes.

Be sure to get some exercise each day... take your older child for a walk, if the weather permits... or if you can get the time, join a pregnancy exercise class. If that isn't a possibility, maybe look into getting a DVD for exercising while pregnant and put that on. Whatever you think will get you motivated to keep going.

Not all of the weight gain is in your control, so try not to worry too much about it if you know you are making good choices.

Totally agree with Doula here. Just wanted to let you know one of my habits that kept me from putting weight on with my first (I gained 25 lbs). When I had a craving I would always wait 15 minutes before I gave in. Before I endulged I would drink a large glass of water, which would help me fill up, it helped me control my portions and not fill up on junk.

Thanks Doula and Ang for such great advice!
I will dif keep those in mind!
Although right now I'm lucky if I can eat anything because morning sickness is taking over my life! :S so it feels like anyway!

I agree with both Doula and Ang, just be careful of how much you eat. When I was pregnant, I only gained 16 pounds and my baby weighed 7 lbs 14 oz. I was nervous about gaining a lot of weight because I'm already on the hefty side but my cravings were salad and yogurt! I knew I had to feed my baby so "dieting" wasn't an option but thankfully I didn't crave a lot of junk. You'll also find that eating healthier choices will make you feel better overall. My last trimester one thing that worked for me if I did have some naughty cravings was I'd eat a real meal first. Then I wouldn't try to fill up on whatever I was originally craving. And I drank PLENTY of water!
