I have a new 3Ton Freus A/C and the 15year old 10 Sear 3.5 ton coil was never replaced. What should replace it? Do the coils come with Sear ratings? I was told yes and no buy some estimates . I only have 19" where the existing coil is now. I was told the larger the better but I don't have the room above the Bryant 90% furnace because I have an air cleaner under the furnace. Thanks

Did you inherit this system, or was this work done for you recently? SEER rating applies to the outdoor unit, but it will never achieve that coupled to the outdated evaporator. If you have the installation manual for the a/c unit, it may list approved indoor coils, but the space constraints you mentioned may force you to look elsewhere. Were you given any explanation as to why the evaporator wasn't replaced with the a/c unit?
