My computer worked fine until it suddenly stopped working. When I tried to restart it and it just wouldn't start again. My computer screen says it's not getting a signal and then my computer stops working to. So that means I can't see or do anything. Can anyone help me out?

How far are you getting into boot? Do you have a light on the front of your computer (the tower)? Do you have a light in the back of it, where the plug comes from?

Have you installed, or replaced anything, like hardware, recently? Do you have a video card, or is the video 'onboard'(on your motherboard)?

Not really, only installed reinstalled a game that didn't work properly

Are the cables connected correctly?
When you press the startbutton does the fans start and stop instantly?

No first my computer starts but my screen doesn't and then it stops working. And then it restarts itself again and so on

Well this could be a couple things. I just had this happen to me twice.

Is it a laptop or desktop.

My two issues was that one I had a MS Pro Duo card stuck in the laptop causing the laptop to short out, causing it continuosly reboot.

On my desktop my video card was onbaord and it no longer worked causing me not to see my screen.

Not sure if this is what's wrong but I'd say it's your video card! Let me know!

That could be it, since I saw all kinds of random pixels before my computer stopped working.

But why does my computer keeps restarting?

Yeah I would guess it was your Video Card.

Since you said you didn't mess with any wires or anything major (just a game) then everything should still be connected correctly. I believe your Video Card went **KAABLOOOEY**

I am unsure. Maybe your computer is setup to reboot if a signal is not detected. Therefore causing this endless cycle!

Should I let someone repair it?

Well. My diagnosis is only off limited (very limited knowledge) you should get the expertise of an exprt. I will try and get a PC expert to look at this post and see if he can answer more positively.

Give me a minute to find an expert!

The behavior as described is usually a video, memory, motherboard, or power supply problem, although it can be caused by just about any component that isn't working right. I'd suggest taking the machine to a local repair shop for diagnosis if spare components aren't available, otherwise components can be pulled and replaced individually in a logical fashion until the culprit is found.

What kind of os do you have?

Been reading that Win XP sp3 can cause a computer to continuously reboot

I got vista, but I'm sure it's not my power supply. And I'll just take it to local repair shop.

Yeah that is the best solution!

Been reading that Win XP sp3 can cause a computer to continuously reboot

For that issue the system would complete POST (and stuff would appear on the screen) and then generate a blue screen error/reboot.
