Pit bulls are pretty stocky. Average weight should be around 55 to 75 lbs. You feed by weight which is on the dog food package you are using.

Hello there!

Female 22 and 110 pounds (10.0 and 50 kg)

Has your puppy seen a vet yet? He or she will be the best person to ask about your particular pup's diet. What you feed him is as important as how much you feed him.

I hope you don't mind if I ask you a couple of things in return.
Your questions lead me to wonder what you do know about Pit Bulls, and if you have any experience whatsoever with dog care. If you're starting from scratch, please make sure you invest in at least a couple of books in puppy care and dog training. One of my favorites is called The Puppy Whisperer by Paul Owens, but you can browse through your local bookstore or neighborhood library to chose the books that suit you best.

There are just so many important things to know in raising and training a dog. There is no reason for you to have to reinvent the wheel if you don't know what you're doing. Reading these books will give you a much better handle on every step you'll need to take together. If you don't get informed in this way, I can pretty much guarantee you will face some frustrating and totally unnecessary struggles.

So many people think that owning a dog doesn't mean they need to do any reading up on the subject, but I can assure you that it does. Information you gather over the internet should be considered supplemental to that; you will still need the books. The fact that you have a powerful breed makes this an even more significant responsibility. Is there a particular reason you chose a Pit Bull as your first dog, if this is indeed your first? You might also consider enrolling him in obedience classes after he has finished getting his shots. Be a responsible owner, and get informed.
