Hello, I decided to try doing my own taxes this year, but I came across a problem and hopefully I can seek help here.

I want to ask what is the standard deduction for a dependent, such as myself.

I know that it's earned income plus 300, but not exceeding the standard deduction for the single status.

If I received a W-2 and 1099G (box 7), are both the numbers added up to get the earned income plus the $300?

Is nonemployee compensation considered earned income??

Your earned income consists of your wages, salary, tips, and othe compensation received for personal services you performed. So that means the amount on your W-2. The 1099-G Box 7 is reporting that you received an agricultural subsidy - I don't believe this would be considered "earned income."
