I have an electrical heater that is needed for the basement. I would like to know what type of extension cord is needed to operate a 1500 electrical heater? What is the gauge number?

Don't expect instantaneous answers. This is not a chat room. It sometimes takes a while for someone to get back to you.

A space heater or room A/C should never be used on an extension cord.
If you must, then use as short as possible, use at least #14 as KISS said, and DO NOT run it for long periods.

I would use a #12 Cord, some may say overkill. Keep an eye on the ends, loose connections generate heat.
