Hello there okay this might be complacated a little bit okay my 2 children live with there grandpaprents and I live far away mabey see the kids once a year 2 weeks in the summer the man I am about to marry been with him for almost 4 years but the children have never resided here nor do they think of my fiancé as a father I have paid sapport although the grandparents are overly rulling and I am about to give up on the children and not be apart of there lives anymore if the grandparents wanted to be mean could they take my soon to be husband to court for child sapport payments if we have no contact with the children anymore? Thank you

The short answer is YES. In canada a step parent can be held responsible for child support just as much as the bio parent can. In fact they are suppose to make up any differences if the bio dad falls short. Maybe you might think about working on a relationship that moves you toward getting your children back into your life ?
