Hi. I'm usually not like this with anybody else, but I've been dating a guy for 5 months now, and from the first time we started talking on the phone I've lied to him about something's to get him to feel sorry for me. The last time I lied to him, I told him I had to get a minor surgery and was in the hospital. He lives 4 hrs away so he really couldn't check out my story.
I don't know why I do this and I can't seem to stop. Please help me!

This isn't going to be a healthy relationship if you continue to lie. If he finds out he will most likely break up with you. Its hard to trust a liar.

Do you think this could be because you are feeling like you want more time with him, and that you are deprived of attention so you are trying negative ways to get it?

Do you really want a relationship based on lies? How would you feel if it was him doing this to you. I think you need to think about this relationship and decide if you can stop these lies.

That's really, really weird.

He's going to find out sooner or later.

Thanks you guyz, I think it's because he lives far away and I get to see him like once a month. I don't lie to him about anything else except when I want attention. I'll stop immediately. I feel better now!

I suspect you feel that you can't hold him to you with your personality alone.Do you suffer from poor self-esteem?
I think that would be a good place to begin.

Lying only created more problems because what are you going do when the and if he finds out the truth and when you lie the cycle never ends because then you have to tell another lie to cover up the lie from before.

Maybe you lie to him because you thought him having some sympathy for you would make him stay but you have to realize you can't make someone stay with you. If they can't stay on their own free will then you don't need them.
