In our kitchen, as well as the rest of the house, I am second in command. The answer to your question is husband.

That would be a Sous (pronounced "sue") Chef. There can be more than one in a given kitchen. They answer to the Head Chef or the Executive Chef, but that title can vary between kitchens. Sometimes, there is both an Executive Chef, who is more administrative in capacity, and the Head chef, who is the boss of the actual cooking.
