Okay I have the old NM two wire cable running to my bathroom that was hooked up to my vanity. The old vanity had a light and a outlet on it the light was switched. I need to install just an outlet to these wires -HOW and what goes where?

Are you saying that there was a switch somewhere other than on the light that operated it? If so, you need to connect the outlet to the wires that aren't switched. Understand? Or better yet, did I understand your question correctly?

Okay I wasn't very clear. I had an old lighted vanity that had a plug in on the top. The outlet worked even if the switch for the light was off. The electric line that went to it is the old NM fabric sheathed plastic insulated two wire stuff that was used from the mid 30's up until the mid 60;s. So I have to splice onto it with about three feet of new wire-same gauge. I Know that the white wire should be attached to the silver screw and the black to the bronze but do I loop a jumper from each wire back around to the screw on the same sides in order for both top and bottom plug ins to have power. I hope this is understandable. Pics would be great and yes I know that code requires gfsi but its not an option.
