I have a huge, 39 year-old Fir Tree in my yard. It has sentimental value. I may be moving in a year or so and would like to reproduce it. What is the easiest way? Should I use a cutting or cone seeds? How do I go about it?

You can cut the top two inches of any young shoots, remove the needles from the lower third of the cuttings and place each cutting in its own container. After about 8 weeks the cuttings should be fully rooted and began to grow. These new trees will be ready to plant in the garden when they are eight inches tall.

Glad it made you smile. The name comes from being into vintage Airstream trailers. It's also the title of an interesting book written by a worker in the auto industry during their heyday. The license plate on my Airstream by the way is "RIVETED". You know - I could make a joke or two about your screen name also ;-).
