My outside lennox unit is not working. Fan is not turning and I hear nothing. The furnace downstair is a lennox pulse propane gas (which is blowing air) and the ac is a lennox. Yesterday afternoon it stayed on and was really cold and I couldn't get it to kick off. I raised the temp up to 78 when I went to bed and I guess it finally kicked off. Now the fan in furnace is blowing but that is all. I cked the two 30 amp fuses and they are good, my question is this,, is there a reset on that fan on the outside unit and can I pull the cover off and ck it? Also my dad put a humidifier in the basement and plugged it into the outlet on the furnace I was wondering if that caused the breaker to the outside unit to kick off, maybe?? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

The humidifier being connected to the furnace power should not affect the outside unit as far as high voltage goes but he could have done something that shorted the low voltage going to the outdoor unit. If you have a voltage meter that will read the voltage and not just light a light you can check the voltage on the two low voltage wires going to the unit outside. It should read 24 volts if the thermostat is calling for cooling and the temp is set lower than the house temp.

You may also have breakers in the main panel inside that tripped...
