The company I work for has been monitoring my internet usage for as long as I have been using the internet at my home. I think that time has been about 12 years. I have worked for this company for twenty two years. I don't know how or why they do this.
I am a hard working single woman who pays her bills on time, and I do not engage in criminal activity of any kind. You would think that after 12 years of Spying on me on the internet that they would have figured out that I am not a criminal.
I have not minded their invasion of my privacy until the last three years when they started divulging the contents of my private e-mails and the writing in my blogs to every one in the plant. I feel totally violated. My coworkers are continuously repeating things to each other or to me that were meant to be private.
Why would the company do this to me? Is it legal to divulge the contents of personal e-mails, and the websites that I frequent? I don't associate with any of my coworkers while not at work. I think these people are rude and uncouth.

I don't use a computer at work. The company is viewing my internet usage in my home. Is this legal in Wisconsin. Can they divulge my personal information to my coworkers?

I would consult with an Attorney. I see no problem with them accessing your emails (how are they doing this, by the way?) if you are on the clock; I do see a problem disclosing or divulging the contents of the emails to other parties.

They say many companies are looking at employees internet sites/blogs
Which is legal. Hacking and Telling co-workers is another issue that as far as I know is illegal.

I'm not a lawyer, but this sounds like a gross infringement of your privacy rights. The fourth amendment states that American citizens have the right to be free from unreasonable search and seizure and I think that what they are doing would be a violation. You should contact an attorney immediately to see if you can put a stop to this and pursue legal action if necessary. For email, use hotmail and don't use your real name for your username, I'm pretty sure that will keep anyone from spying on your emails.

First is this the same company that your grown son is also spying on you and giving them the information also ?
** from a previous post

Honestly no they are not spying on you, in fact there are some things, such as blogs that are public and any posts ( like the ones you do here) are all public.
So they may keep a eye on you or even other nosey employees may be reading your blogs and telling or laughing about what you write.

If you post anything out there, Facebook, myspace, on this site, or 100's of other sites all of that is easy to find. If another employee is willing to do deeper searches a lot is out there.

Now they are not reading your emails.

After reading all of your posts I would suggest you talk with a couselor or other mental health professoinal. Feeling everyone is watching or spying on you is a serious sign of someone needing help.

This is incorrect advice both legally and from the standpoint of how spy software (if that is what is being discussed) operates.

Your company is definitely not spying on you. There is no possible way that they could hack into your computer at home and read your email or tell what sites you have visited.

The only person that could possibly be spying on you in your own SON.

You could try putting a password into your computer to keep him out of you portion of the computer... or you could boot him out.

If you share this computer with him you just let yourself open for a lot of grief from him.

Have you confronted sonny and asked him why on earth would he do this to you?
