I moved to the USA from the UK in Feb 08 on an L1 (Director) visa.
Under what status do I pay tax in the USA? Do I also need to pay tax in the UK? (interest in UK bank accounts etc)
Thanks.

The US IRS taxes on "world wide " income generally, so any income in the US starts as taxable. Your tax status depends on how long you are in the US during the tax year, 183 days meets the substantial presence test for filing. Please note that the US has tax treaties with a lot of countries, including the U.K. so you are generally not be taxed twice for the same income.
You should consult with experienced tax attorney or CPA. This is the website to a good foreign taxation firm F1, OPT, J1, H1B, H4, L1, TN Visa Taxes, Form 1040NR 1040NR EZ Instructions Software, Form 8843, Form 843, IRS Tax Return Refund , H4 Visa Tax ID Form W-7 ITIN, Non Resident Tax, International Student Taxes, Mailing Address, US Tax Treaty Benefits, O (http://www.visataxes.com/) (I don't work for them).
