Hi!
I saw this movie in the late 80's or early 90's.
From what I can remember there has been some sort of war including robots and the earth is a wasteland, scavangehunters finds a robot head/ other parts.
They bring the stuff home and the robot starts to rebuild itself, and then it goes on a killingspree.
I think the entire movie takes place inside the house, apart from the beginning.
In one scene a guy or a girl hides in a refrigerator because the robot can only see warm things.
The cover might be a robot head where half the crown is painted with the american flag. (not shure if it's the same movie)
