This is your homework, and you have to do the thinking. I just provide hints.

The car and everything in it is moving forwards at 29.4 m/s.
So that ball is already moving forwards at 29.4 m/s.
And than you add 16.1 m/s forwards to that.
So what speed forwards will that ball have than?

Brainteaser : what would (relative to the ground) the speed of the ball be, if thrown backwards at 29.4 m/s?
