I'm doing my science project in my college about air conditioner. My project is on eco friendly air conditioner. Is R410 can be installed in a R22 compressor or R12 compressor. I'm asking this because the refrigerant R410 is available in india but the compressor is not available. Help me, is there any eco friendly refrigerants that are available in india which works in R22 compressor.

R410 uses significantly higher pressures. That spec must be checked or ask the manufacturer.

Also, if pre-charged with oil the oil must be removed ond flushed because R22 oil is not compatible with R410 refrigerent.

There are R-22 drop in replacements you could research. I do know if they qualify for your definition of eco-friendly.
