:eek:I'm asking about my tongue ring yet again. I changed it. It doesn't hurt, it gets a little tender after I eat. I have some white stuff coming out of it. Yes I know- infection. But I have a sinus infection and a lot of gunk that drains. One of my friends is a licensed piercer and he's seen it he didn't say anything about it looking "off". I've been keeping it really clean... probably cleaning it more than nessisary. And its been doing this since I got it done. I have some antibiotics from oral surgery I had a couple months back that I've started taking just in case. And I'm going to go buy mouthwash with peroxide in it. But I was wanting opions. I've read that some white stuff like that is normal. And I've heard that it isn't... but I just don't know.

And a couple more things: Around my peircing is a little bit redder but I did change it today plus its not even a week old. And like I said the guy I know plus a bunch of people who have had their tongues done have seen it and no one has said anything about it not looking right; even with the white stuff... and the white stuff is worse when my the gunk is draining or when I sneeze...

Okay, hello, I will do my best to answer your question.
I am pretty much tattooed and pierced so I can pretty much tell you what I know from experience.

1. "White Gunk" Secretion from the base or from the top of your piercing? Let me know about that one.
2. Did your piercer have a license?
3. You should use hydrogen peroxide and mix with a cleaning agent such as mouthwash
4. Rotate the piercing and touch only with clean hands
5. Do NOT squeeze or intiate any kind of contact with your hands and your piercing, by squeeze I mean do not try to see if you can get stuff to come out of it.
6. If it is bleeding and yellow gunk comes out then it is infected
7. If a nodule forms on the top or base of your tongue that is a keloid, other wise known as a "peircer's mistake" you need to see a doctor and you will probably be administered a shot and a keloid WILL NOT GO AWAY and you will have to have that surgerically removed, {which is not covered by insurance}

I hope this has helped, please feel free to ask questions

Cheers.

-top and nothing on the bottom
-yes she has a license
-nope not bleeding and not yellow
-if it helps she had to pierce it crooked because of veins, the only time the white stuff really comes out is when my tongue is when I'm talking a lot while it super dry. It looks A lot better today after I took the antibiotic; which helped my sinus's that are draining...
-how noticeable would a nodule be?
-what exactly is a keloid?
-thanks for the help-
