I am going to be removing a one piece fiberglass shower and replace with tile. The home is only 3 years old. I will be taking it out in pieces, most likely using a sawzall. After turning off the water supply and removing the hardware, the drain will be the next problem. I intend to use the same drain, by tiling around it. The question is are these units glued to the floor and/or wall? Should I plan on cutting it out in pieces, and how much trouble should I expect with the drain interferring with the fiberglass removal?

Thanks in advance

You are one the right track regarding the removal. A sawsAll is the best tool, use a very short blade and cut down in the corners. You are not going to be able to reuse that exact drain. Cut around it and then lift out the rest of the floor leaving the drain. This will expose the connection to the pipe, what material is that pipe?
