I see that there is a question similar to mine but I am asking anyway.
I remember an old TV show, in the 70s I think, around the same time as the show The Monkees was on TV or it could have been part of The Monkees show, I cannot recall, but I need to know the name of the show with the elephone character (costume). It is driving me kooky trying to think of it.
Yes, there are more important things in the world, of course, but that is my question.
Thank you to anyone who can answer it.:)

Was it a cartoon, a puppet, or a costumed character? You said "elephone." Was this part of the skit, cartoon, or show? I can kind of see something in my head too, but I can't put my finger on it. What country was it broadcast in?

Hi. Sorry for the confusion, it was late at night and I meant to say elephant costume. It was obvious (to me) that it was someone in the costume. It never spoke, just danced around, at least that I remember and I too have it vaguely in my memory, it is just bugging me, I can see it in my mind but I cannot put my finger on the name of the show, Bananas comes to mind but I could be totally wrong. I don't even recall any other characters, that is how poor my memory is of it but it keeps coming to mind. Any help would be welcome. I am not even sure if it was a children's show or just a skit from a different program, sorry to be so vague. And there is a name for the Elephant and it is just on the tip of my tongue but I cannot recall, Snorky just flew into my head but that could be way way off.

Sharon, Lois and Bram's Elephant Show has an elephant in it, but it was early 80s.
"Sharon, Lois & Bram's Elephant Show" (1984) (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0086800/)

Hi. No, I don't think it was that show, it was before then, in the late 60s or in the 70s. I appreciate the help.

Haha! When you said Snorky, it reminded me of that old show Mama's Family, with Carol Burnett and Vicki Lawrence. It was an episode where Tim Conway was telling a story about something to do with an elephant. He kept on putting his arm up in front of his face and saying "snork!" It had Carol, Vicki, and Harvey, trying so hard not to laugh. The longer Tim kept doing it, the harder it was for them to contain themselves. It was hilarious.
Anyway, I can still see a vague image in my head of something like this. I'm not even sure if it's the right one I'm thinking of, but it would have been around that time. Do you remember the setting? Indoors... outdoors? I'll probably wake up at 3am next Tuesday or something and think of it! Haha!

That was definitely not the one I was thinking of! ;) Now I'll be sitting thinking forever of what the heck it was that was in my head. Oh crap! Lol. Wasn't the Banana Splits just a Canadian show though? I could be wrong.
Well now this is reminding me of other old kids shows. I'm off to look for Mr. Dress-up, The Friendly Giant, and The Buckshot Show! :D

I don't know, I've never heard of it. Ma-ha-ha
And if your looking up all those, don't forget Under the Umbrella Tree and The Polka-Dot Door.

Starbuck8, you are right, it is the Banana Splits, my sister thought of it earlier this evening and I checked it out on the internet.
Thanks to all for their help. Maybe I will have other questions in the future.

I'm glad you found it, haha. But it wasn't me, it was TeddyOBear that did. ;)
