What happens when you turn kitchen sink faucet off. Do you get hot water in bath/sink upstairs ?

It appears that it may be either Low Pressure and / or Under-sized pipes and/or combination of both.
Do you know anything about the plumbing plumber installed in your house ?
Do you know what's the pressure in your house ?
Is it hot water only ?
How big house do you have ?
Did they do anything with hot water heater ?

There is a system to follow with installing new water lines as well adding new bathroom to existing house. You have to take in consideration overall pressure, number of existing plumbing fixtures and number of new plumbing fixtures + size of existing pipes. You cannot just add onto existing plumbing. If you hooked up your new bathroom on existing 1/2" water line for kitchen faucet + you had low pressure to begin with = than you will have problem that you are experiencing now.
I would strongly suggest that you call your plumber back to take a look at it...

Call the plumber back. He needs to re-check his installation...
I assume you didn't have this problem before the remodel, correct ?
