Hello everyone. I am new to motherhood and I have a few questions. I have a 6 month old daughter and she has a big appetite. Usually she eats 4-6 baby jars of carrots or sweet potatoes or bananas and she has usually 4-5 bottles of formula mixed with pablum a day. In most cases she is still hungry and she wakes up at 3am or 4am in the morning hungry. I have tried giving her more pablum before bed, but she is still hungry. She is not a fat baby at all either, she digests her food vry well and she is very active. What else should I be feeding her? Or is there something heavier I should be feeding her? Or is there a different food I should be giving her?

That is fine.
Most babies wake through the night to eat or nurse. Why are you thickening her formula with pablum? Formula has all the nutrients her little body needs by itself.

I am thickening her milk because my pediatrition had told me to do so. Also just the past week and a half she has been so hungry all the time! She always slept 8-10 hours a night since she was a month and a half old.

Wow, sounds like she is eating a LOT!!
May I ask why you are feeding her so much? Is she crying so you feed her?

I have to agree with J9 here, that does seem like a lot. How many ounces are the bottles? What does your pediatrician say about your babies intake? My son was a big boy, and at 6 months he took 4 6oz bottles a day and 2-3 small jars of baby food a day, and I thought that was a lot. Are you sure she is hungry every time you feed her?

Are you sure she is hungry every time you feed her?
Or are you feeding her because she is crying? Babies aren't always hungry every time they cry.

Same here. My son is a big guy already.
8 months old, and he eats 2 meals a day 2, 4oz bottles... and nurses the 3 times the rest of the night...
How regular do you take your daughter in to see the pediatrician?? Was she a pre-mie? Is that why you doctor advized such a diet?
