:confused::confused:In our Divorce I was set with a judgement against me for $7500.00 I was to pay in 30 days. It has been almost a year, At the time and now I was and am Disable I had gotten a court order to pay a credit card... they found me Excempt... *Judgement Proof* because I have nothing they can take nor any money. How does this work when it is in the divorce degree to pay... when there is no way I can... what can my ex, court. Do to me... jail?? HE is calling and harassing me for the money! Please help me I am confused and scared at the same time!:confused:

Welcome to AMHD. Is the judgement against you an individual or joint debt? Is the judgement against just you, or both (joint)?

The one credit card deal was mine in my name... what I'm wanting to know is... that in my divorce it said that I was to pay my ex husband, $7500.00 for property settlement...

BUT I found out when the one credit card tried to talk things... the judge ruled me as excempt.

So does that mean that my EX husband can't do anything either to me??

It seems to me that if the credit card debt was yours alone, then you would be ordered to pay it; and that the property settlement payment to your ex husband would be for something else, since you were to pay the credit card debt yourself. If that is correct, why did you agree, or why were you ordered, to pay you husband $7500?

OK , the money I am to pay my EX husband is called a "Property Settlement."

What I would like to know is how they handle "Property Settlement." if you can't pay them back to your ex. I have gone to court for another Bill and was found excempt, due to being on Disablity. *so can he put me in jail or how would they handle this... the court system, or would I also be Exempt from this :Property Settlement" too.


For some reason I had the worse judge in the world! And not to mention the worse lawyers but after the 3rd one... I did get full cust of the kids, and the house... NEVER was past bills, or loans we had together , were never brought up so I am here single mom,that is disable... so I was stuck paying off house bills, medical bills and now paying on a loan, that is 3 grand. The judge wanted it over right then and there! That was the only time that judge was in on our Divorce, the first one we had... his case load was too much, so we got the other judge.
