I need to know which is graphic card is better nvidia XFX GTX 295 or ATI Sapphire HD 4870 X2 2GB GDDR5 and when I say which is better I mean in performance and visuals and prices to I'm so confused please help me!

My gut tells me that the ATI sapphire is a better card, but I haven't seen a side-by-side comparison.

Firstly it depends on what game(s) your going to primarily play every game now adays comes out built for a specific style/brand of card so games will run better on a ATI or NVIDIA. Secondly in the future check a site like newegg.com great prices and lots of specs on the cards. When comparing cards look at these 3 main factors:1 pixel pipelines(more the better), how much ram(ie 512) again the more the better, and clock speed (750mhz) and yes the more the better. So if the price of both cards is the same, the ram and clock speed are the same or close but one has more pipelines, the one with more pipelines is the better deal. Also Google searching the card in question with the words "benchmark test" is also a good way to see how it runs.
