My company is based in bristol pa, I live in nj and work on the road in several states.they take bristol town tax out of my check... do I need to pay this?? Can I get it back? How?

1. Your are resident of NY so you must report your worldwide income for the year.
2. If you are present in any state, then income earned during that period must be reported to that. For many states, your income may be less than filing requirement of that state.

To answer the Bristol tax question, the answer is NO.

The town has NO legal standing to tax your salary if you neither work nor live in the town.

Tell your employer to STOP withholding those taxes.
