Someone told me that women control the relationship a lot of times. It seems like guys like to joke around about how one guy is "whipped." If a guy is not "whipped" it seems like he's just not that into the girl or the relationship is more easily broken.

What say you?

When I was a freshmen in high school, I dated a junior. Needless to say, because I was "young" and pretty much just stupid for her, she controlled everything. I was whipped.

As I grew older, everything seemed to be 50-50, and I was OK with this.

I think it's all about the dynamic. Some people like to "wear the pants" while others plainly just don't care. My parents, who have been together for 24 years, seem very happy. They joke around a lot, bicker together, laugh together, etc. It seems almost impossible for them to be without another. In that relationship, my father wears the pants.

I've also seen relationships where the woman wears the pants, and controls a lot of things, and occasionally "bosses" the man around (jokingly, of course). They also seem to be very happy and loving.

So I can't say if one is better than another, but honestly, I think it's all about the dynamic.
