What do I have to do to become a makeup artist? How do I start?

For one thing, you might or might not go to school to be one. It takes lots of practice, learning about tools and techniques of the trade and as much as you can about makeup in general. There are new products and uses for the products and new application techniques that are developed all of the time.

You would also have to know a lot about clothing and fashion and what kind of makeup might look the best for certain fashions, skin color, hair and even types of jewelry that someone might want to wear.
