I am paying child support for two children in ny and the custodial will not give me copies of my children's birth certificates and social security cards so my husband can add them to his health insurance. I asked the support collection for help and they won't help what do I do now.

Welcome to AMHD. Why can't you get the birth certificates yourself?
Check this: Birth Certificates - New York State Department of Health (http://www.health.state.ny.us/vital_records/birth.htm)

I can't get it because I don't have custody.

Actually no, you can get copies by merely sending in for them as the parent.

But if you wish to force the other parent for some reason to do it, and they will not, take them back to family court to order them to.

*?? But how can your husband put them on his insurance.
1. you don't have custody
2. your husband has not adopted
3. they do not reside in your home as principle residence

I see no legal way of adding them to your husbands insurance. Unless the court order says you have to furnish insurnce.

BUT... to be honest I have never had to have a birth certificate or social card for adding someone to insurance, that is merely a line on a form

My children have been living with a family member and I was ordered to pay half their medical bill in nys. They been gone out of my custody since 1996 and I still haven't received a bill how am I supposed to pay it if I haven't received a bill.

Can you call the family member and request a copy from them? Or maybe the dr/hospital you're children were seen by or admitted to?

I don't understand. The custodial parent (I assume the father) won't give you information you need to provide medical insurance for the child?

That makes no sense.

But I am also wondering about your husband providing insurance. Since they are NOT your husband's dependents I would double check to see if they can be covered.

It would appear they have decided not to send you any bills, and/or they are in a program that pays all of their bills. ** I know here in GA I have my son in the PeachCare program, costs me 31 dollars a month and pays 100 percent of all doctor, all drugs and more.

I am not sure why you are asking, it appear you don't really want to pay,

What contact do you have with the children, or with the people watching them ?

I've merged your two threads since they deal with the same issue.

If a court ordered you to pay medical and you have not received any bills from the custodian or an insurance company, then I would send a letter to the court that issued the order and inform them that you have tried to comply with the order but have been blocked from doing so by the custodial parent. The court will then decide whether to enforce the order or not, but you will have proof that you tried.
