I have a hunter ceiling fan/light combo controlled by a Harbor Breeze universal remote that simply stopped working (the remote will not turn the light/fan off/on). The fan does have pull chain, but I do not know how to bypass the remote to use the fan manaually. I've checked the switch, remote batteries and the manual pull chains and cannot resolve. Do you have suggestions for solving the problem or at least bypassing the remote, so I can test/use the fan/light manually.
Thank you

To bypass the remote you must open the electrical connections at the receiver and wire the fan directly into the feed lines, there should be at least 3, white, black, green. However, maybe we should be talking about a fix rather than a bypass. Open the canopy and locate the three wires conming into the receiver. Test the black and white, you should get 120 v, do you?

Ballenger is correct. Open the fan at the ceiling, remove the receiver, and wire the fan without it. See if it works.
